Cully's

Cully's is Australia's largest Yamaha dealership and a trusted name in Western Australia's motorcycle community. To rebuild their Shopify storefront and replace the manual supplier data work that was consuming their team's time, Cully's partnered with Cultivated Commerce. The work centred on a custom operational layer, MyGarage, that automates the supplier data work the team used to do by hand.

The Challenge

Cully's previous Shopify setup was outdated, inefficient, and no longer met operational demands:

  • Slow site speed
  • Broken Functionality - Filtering and Stock Availability
  • Manual product uploads with disconnected supplier data
  • Lack of solution for part fitment or compatibility tagging
  • Labour-intensive stock updates prone to errors and not scalable

The Solution

A Modern, Flexible Storefront

Migrated Cully's to Shopify Online Store 2.0, delivering

  • Faster page loads and improved mobile responsiveness
  • Refined navigation and meta field-powered filtering
  • Inventory displays, vehicle-specific templates, and a new Parts Finder system
  • Clean UX optimised for performance and accuracy

Product Data at Scale

To manage product data across suppliers, we built MyGarage, a purpose-built middleware platform:

  • Scheduled data syncs and automatic product creation
  • Fitment tagging, variant handling, and AWS image sync
  • Manual import tools, stock updates, and sync transparency via logging
  • Bridges Shopify with supplier APIs for scalable product operations

Data Transformation and Validation

MyGarage transforms and validates incoming supplier data before it touches Shopify. Fitment assignment, tagging, and sync scheduling, the work the team used to do by hand, now runs through a defined, governed process. The system catches errors before they reach the storefront, not after a customer raises them.

The Outcome

Operational Efficiency

  • Eliminated hours of manual product management
  • Reduced product errors and sync failures through automation
  • Centralised fitment, tagging, and inventory updates

Customer Experience

  • Improved mobile site speed and usability
  • Enabled vehicle-specific filtering and compatibility features
  • Delivered a smoother user experience from homepage to parts discovery

Foundations That Grow

  • New supplier product ranges absorb cleanly into the operational layer, no proportional growth in admin work
  • The backend is built for what's next, not just what's needed today
  • Adding parts and accessories no longer adds operational overhead
“We've been working with Cultivated Commerce to manage and upgrade our ecommerce site, and our experience with them has been great. Managing a website can get complicated but Scott always makes sure we understand exactly what's going on in a way that actually makes sense to us. He's incredibly effective at coordinating with his team to troubleshoot issues and build out the features we need. It's hard to find a web dev agency that communicates this clearly and actually gets the job done right.”
